Surrender explores the beauty and danger of giving yourself fully to the things that move you. Love, art, music, desire. The passions that make us feel most alive can also consume us until the line between who we are and what we love begins to disappear.
Existing in the tension between devotion and self-preservation, Surrender asks: How deeply can we give ourselves to what we love without losing ourselves within it?
I created surrender after a long period of back to back loses, one of them being my passion for creating. I had no control over all life challenged me with and that I had to learn to accept. What I could control, however, was my gift. I started my journey of rediscovering what makes me feel alive, connection, and release. Surrender is a testament to what becomes of us when we reconnect with the passions that once consumed us.
The face distortion represents the ascension into a world only known by you…one where you feel the most safe, understood, and authentic.
The guitar represents my passion, release, and my voice. It’s what I fought to reclaim.
